Natural Baby Wash for Sensitive Skin
Hello mommies and daddies! I hope you all are doing well. One question I have been asked the most is which products should I buy for my baby. Recently, a new mother asked me to suggest the best brand for a baby wash for sensitive skin. Well, honestly, I stopped researching for baby products once my son crossed the toddler stage. I completely understand the fear and doubts new parents go through. All they look for is the right guidance to make their parenthood journey smooth. I have been in that stage too. A little reassurance and right advice from someone more experienced is all we parent want.
Now, I’ll be addressing all these baby-related queries on my blog. And today, I’m taking up this question, which I have been asked the most. Which body wash should I get for my baby with sensitive skin? So, here are the 5 best baby wash from Indian brands which you should definitely check out in 2020.
5 Best Indian Natural Baby Wash for Sensitive Skin
I love these brands because they have all-natural baby care products made in India. And I have been using their products for my son. I hope the information I provide helps you in choosing the right product for your precious little one.
1 – Mother Sparsh
I am sure you must have heard a lot about the brand Mother Sparsh. They are one of the best Indian Brands to offer innovative plant-based and eco-friendly baby care products. All their baby care products are plant-powered & natural. This means they source the ingredients for these products from all-natural sources like plants, essential oils, and herbal extracts.
Their Plant-Powered natural baby wash comes with chamomile oil, avocado oil, and coconut-based cleanser. I have recently started using it for Nemit since his skin has become sensitive in this weather. And I wanted to try something gentle which has calming & relaxing properties & which can soothe his sensitive skin too.
I am quite happy with this baby wash and even Nemit loves it due to its mild fragrance.
Since this product has certified organic ingredients, it’s a perfect choice for newborn babies too. Mother Sparsh baby wash maintains the body moisture keeping the newborn baby’s delicate skin healthy & natural. Additionally, its tear-free formula makes it a perfect head to toe wash for the little ones.
Now when you compare baby care products, do check for any toxic or harsh substances added in the product. If you are looking for a suitable product for sensitive skin then it must be free from any chemicals. Such as paraben, silicone, SLS/SLES, dyes, and formaldehyde which are common in skincare products. Also, check for any artificial fragrance which can sometimes irritate the baby’s delicate skin. This Plant-Powered Baby Wash from Mother Sparsh is non-toxic & free from harsh chemicals.
Some mothers have asked me if it is safe to use a body wash daily for newborn babies & infants. Yes, if the product is natural and organic and it is free from any harsh substances, you can use it daily too. But be careful about the quantity of product you use, for newborns only a little bit is enough.
MRP – 385/- for 200 ml.
2 – Himalaya Baby Care
Everyone knows about Himalaya, the trusted & leading Indian brand since 1930. Himalaya’s baby care products are Ayurvedic formulations and contain 100% pure herbal actives. Their baby wash comes in 3 different variants, gentle (for daily use), extra moisturizing (for winters), and refreshing baby wash (for summers).
Himalaya gentle baby wash was the first product we have used for Nemit and it suited him well too. It is infused with the goodness of chickpea, fenugreek, and green gram which are known for keeping the baby’s delicate skin soft and moisturized.
Though the Himalaya baby wash consists of herbal actives and is free from parabens and SLS, they don’t mention it clearly if it’s ideal for babies with sensitive skin. Hence, I would suggest doing a patch test before trying this product on sensitive skin.
MRP – 145/- for 200 ml.
3 – Mamaearth Baby Wash for Sensitive Skin
Mamaearth became one of the most popular brands in India with its aggressive marketing strategy. They are Asia’s 1st brand with Made Safe Certified Products which means their products are made with safe ingredients.
Mamaearth’s deeply nourishing body wash for babies contains aloe vera extract and allantoin which help soothe the baby’s body. It comes with the goodness of coconut-based cleansers and jojoba oil which help nourish and moisturize the skin. And, it is safe for sensitive skin as it doesn’t contain any harmful chemicals or artificial fragrances.
MRP – 199/- for 200 ml.
4 – The Moms Co. Baby Wash for Sensitive Skin
The Moms Co. is another brand that is favourite of mothers mainly because of their pregnancy care products. Even their baby care products have gained popularity recently. The Moms Co.’s natural baby wash, as the name suggests, is made with 100% natural ingredients. Such as organic chamomile oil and calendula oil which reduces inflammation and soothes skin.
It is also Made Safe Certified, free from toxins and harmful chemicals, and dermatologically approved safe for sensitive skin. I used their baby wash for Nemit in winters when his skin used to get extremely dry and rough. It worked really well in keeping his skin moisturized for a long time even without using a cream or lotion.
MRP – 393/- for 200 ml.
5 – Baby Biotique
Biotique is another Indian brand that has Ayurvedic baby & kid’s products with 100% botanicals. But their products are not as popular as other Indian brands. I feel it’s mainly due to the lesser number of options in their baby care range.
All their products are made of organically pure, preservative-free ingredients that are good for baby’s sensitive skin. They have 2 different range of baby wash, one for babies and another for kids. However, there is no clear mention of which age group can use these products.
One interesting thing about their packaging is that they have really cute Disney characters printed on the bottle which kids just love. What I don’t like is they have gender-based collections like Mickey Mouse for boys and Disney princesses for girls. I discontinued using it solely because of this reason.
MRP – 180/- for 190 ml.

Baby’s hair needs extra care and attention due to its delicate nature. Thus, for my munchkin I prefer to use a natural baby shampoo from Maaté which has ingredients chosen from the best source, the nature itself. It nourishes the scalp and keeps the hair soft and healthy.
I haven’t heard of this brand, seems new. But yes, baby’s skin and hair need extra care and one should only choose the natural, toxin-free products for them.
