Simple Four Step Skin Care Routine for Moms in Winters

Winter Care for Dry Skin

Hi friends, it’s chilling here, how’s the weather at your place? Well, after last week’s rains, the temperature in Delhi/NCR has rapidly gone down. And with the dropping temperatures, the air is getting rough and chilly making our skin more dry, flaky and chapped. I know how we moms are, ‘supermoms‘ when it comes to giving attention to our little ones and the ‘lazy moms‘ when it’s time to take care of our own. We just don’t get time to spend on our own well being, not even for a simple task like using moisturizer to keep our skin healthy.

It was the same with me until a few days back when a very close friend of mine pointed out how unhealthy, dull and dry my skin looks. Well,  she was right, I am a mommie not a zombie. Hence, I decided to pamper my skin and bring back the healthy glow to it. First things first, I started my search for the perfect face moisturizer for my combination skin type as that’s what gets ignored the most. You all know how busy we moms are, thus online shopping came to my rescue this time.

After carefully selecting all the products that I wanted for my pampering sessions, I came up with this very easy-to-follow skin care regime. This I am following for the last few days now and could see my skin well nourished, happy, healthy and glowing. Check out my simple 4 step skincare routine for winters –

Skin care, face moisturizers and online shopping

1 – Eat healthy food & drink plenty of liquids

This is the simplest and easiest thing you can do to your skin. Winter means lots of unhealthy binging on high-calorie food which is not good for our skin. But by simply adding fresh fruits and vegetables to our diet can do the trick. Eat a bowl of fruit or vegetable salad to curb those hunger pangs while running behind your kid.

We all know the benefits of water still ignore it the most. Make sure you drink 2 Liters of water in a day, be it infused or plain, hot or warm, just drink. That’s the best way to keep our bodies hydrated and moisturized.

2 – Morning Skin Care Routine

Follow this simple morning routine, it will take just a few mins and you will be set for the day. First thing in the morning, wash your face with lukewarm water (no soap or facewash) and let it breathe. After finishing your morning chores, wash your face again with a mild foaming face wash using lukewarm water. Wash it off and splash some cold water to close the pores and lock in the moisture. Immediately after patting your skin dry, put on the face moisturizer and massage gently all over the face and neck. Re-apply moisturizer after 5-6 hrs and keep your skin happy all day long.

3 – Exfoliation, Massage, and Moisturizer

This is the most crucial part of maintaining healthy skin in winters, getting rid of dry and dead skin cells as well as for deep pore cleansing. Use a mild scrub once or twice a week and massage for 5 minutes on face and neck. Leave it for a minute before rinsing off. Again don’t forget to put the moisturizer after patting your skin dry. It’s this simple!

4 – Night Skin Care Routine

Often, I have seen people ignoring this part of skin care. They totally ditch the night care routine thinking that it doesn’t matter much. But, trust me, once you start following a night routine you will see a great difference in how your skin feels in the morning. Again sparing just 5 minutes for your skin can do wonders. First and foremost, use a mild makeup remover and then massage your face for 5 minutes with a light moisturizer. Clean it off using a warm washcloth and put a night face cream and a lip balm before signing off.

These are some very common tips but mostly gets ignored or are taken for granted especially in winter season. However, I can assure all you moms that by sparing 15 minutes a day for your skin can bring a healthy glow to your face. And don’t worry about going to the market to hunt for the right products and worry about wasting your precious time. Because you can find all your favorite products using Online Shopping sitting in the cozy corner of your home sipping on hot coffee.

Hope you find this post helpful. Do try this skincare regime and share your experience with me. Till then take care and enjoy winters!

Oh this was me too. Very lazy but now I am pretty regular with my skin care routine. Try and keep my skin moisturized as I have very dry skin. In Mumbai weather too, I need to use a daily cream.
