5 Best Movies To Watch With Your Kids This Christmas

5 Best Children’s Movies

Hello friends, let’s talk about movies today. Yes, that’s one of my favorite topics and you know we are a family of movie freaks. We can watch back to back movies the whole day. Thankfully, Nemit has always been so supportive when we had to watch a movie in the theatre. We took Nemit for his first ever movie ‘The Jungle Book’ when he was just 2 months old. He was up for initial 15 mins and then slept through the movie, which was actually a good sign for us.

And then there was no stopping us after that, we used to watch 2-3 movies in a month with Nemit. He would usually sleep through most of the movies since we always chose the time closer to his nap times. Now that he’s old enough to understand what’s going on around, he watches the movie with us for some 30-45 mins and then goes back to sleep, allowing us to enjoy the movie.

But, today I am not going to talk about how to go to a movie with a baby rather I will be sharing the list of some of our favorite (I am sure these are favorite of many, not just ours) movies that you can watch at home with your kids this Christmas.

So, here’s the list of 5 best movies which you can watch this Christmas with your kids to make their day even more special

THE POLAR EXPRESS

The Polar Express

One of the best Christmas themed movies featuring lifelike animated human characters. The movie is based on a children’s book written by Chris Van Allsburg. And the story of the movie revolves around the Train – The Polar Express and a boy who is beginning to question the existence of Santa Claus.

Are we really going to the North pole

This boy takes the train and embarks on an extraordinary journey to the North Pole. On the train, he met other kids and thus starts all the action. The movie has wonderful messages about the importance of believing, the value of friendship, respect for leadership and courage, and the beauty of being kind to others.

Strong messages Believe

This will be a fun movie to watch with kids aged 5+ as younger kids may find some scenes and sounds a little scary.

HOME ALONE

One of the favorite comedy movies of all times. I am sure many of you parents must have watched this and loved the cute boy starring in the movie.

Home ALone Movies

Eight-year-old Kevin is accidentally left behind when his family leaves for France. At first, he’s happy to be in charge; but when thieves try to break into his home, he puts up a fight like no other. Being a kid and left all alone at home means doing all the things that parents tell you not to do.

Home Alone Christmas movies

Watch the movie to know how Kevin defend his home using every prank on the burglars. A fun watch for kids aged 7+, parental guidance needed, as there are few dialogues that have inappropriate words.

THE BOSS BABY

This is an animated comedy inspired by Marla Frazee’s Picture Book. 7-year-old Tim is happy with his life, being the only son of his parents he loves to get all the attention from his parents. He has no interest in a sibling but that doesn’t stop the arrival of The Boss Baby. And it doesn’t take long for Tim to realize that this baby is not like any other normal infant.

The Boss Baby

The boss baby is the newborn on an assignment to find out why people are more interested in keeping a puppy rather than having babies. And for this mission, he needs the help of his big brother Tim, who on the other hand in no way interested in his assignment.

The Boss Baby

This movie addresses issues related to sibling rivalry especially when the older kid fears that he will not be loved once the new baby arrives. Must watch for some fun if you have 2 kids at home, appropriate for kids aged 5+, and to look out for clear messages about the value of teamwork and the fact that there is enough love for everyone in a family.

MOANA

Now, this is one movie that everyone can enjoy irrespective of their age. I personally fell in love with that little girl Moana, she’s cute, curious, and courageous. The movie gives a positive message of self-discovery and empowerment.

Moana The Movie

It’s a Disney movie, so you can expect great animation and awesome scenery all through the movie. Moana takes the bold steps to save her island, she listens to her heart over what others wanted to make her believe.

Moana

The movie shows that you should listen to your inner voice about who you are and what you stand for. And what risks you’re willing to take to protect your home and family. I think kids aged 3+ will enjoy watching it, however, a couple of scenes may be a little scary for them.

FINDING NEMO AND FINDING DORY

And now, if you have infants and young toddlers at home then nothing can beat these 2 movies. I can say these are the best-animated movies so far, great story, cute characters, and the emotional factor. Your kids will love Nemo and Dory and all the other characters in the movie.

Finding Nemo Movies

Finding Nemo is the story of a Father and a son and depicts how strong their bond and love is for each other. When Nemo gets caught by some fishermen and transported to a faraway place, his father embarks on an adventurous journey to bring his son back home safely. While the movie Finding Dory is about Dory and her search for her long-lost parents.

Finding Dory

I think both these movies will be great to watch with young kids and everyone learns a few things about the true meaning of family along the way. Watch it with your 2+ kids and have a fun family time together.

I hope you liked the list, these are our family’s personal favorite movies. And Christmas will be the best time to watch a fun flick out of these. So, choose the one you feel will be suitable as per your kid’s age. And let it be a surprise for your kid on this special day. We are going to watch Finding Nemo with Nemit this Christmas.

I don’t have kids, not even married yet but that’s no reason why I shouldn’t have read the post. Kids movies… christmas themed? I am up for it. Home alone is my favorite. Watch all three movies every time during Christmas time.

Have watched boss baby & Moana too. But sadly, they’re not christmas themed. Would love some more suggestions around christmas themed movies.
